Kathryn Playa

Kathryn Playa, Editor of The Playa Wire, is an actress and philanthropist who holds a bachelor’s degree in English literature and a master’s degree in theology. She was a high school religion teacher for 2 years in Ft. Wayne, Indiana, and spent a year living at a mission in the Back of the Yards neighborhood on the south side of Chicago, working to assist poor families.

Now residing in New Jersey, Kathryn has contributed much energy to children and their causes. She was a volunteer in the Los Angeles Unified School District,  and is also the CEO and founder of The Playa Foundation, whose mission is to support other non-profit organizations that nourish children's health, education and welfare.

In creating this e-magazine, it is Kathryn’s vision to provide a platform where people can come in order to find solutions to issues of concern in today's world.
